The Christmas Train Show at Gardens by the Bay runs from Friday 20 November 2026 to Sunday 3 January 2027, 9am to 9pm, in the Flower Dome. Its event page lists no separate price, only “Admission charge to Flower Dome applies”; on 17 October 2026 the Singapore-resident Flower Dome price was S$12 for an adult and S$8 for a child aged 3–12 or a senior aged 60 and above, and the Non-Resident tab listed no Flower Dome-only ticket.
Treating the Flower Dome ticket as the train-show ticket is our inference, not the Gardens’ statement, and the online ticketing site could not be opened to confirm it. On that reading, admission for an illustrative family of five residents comes to S$48, and the Garden Rhapsody light show at Supertree Grove, at 7.45pm and 8.45pm every night, is listed as free. The Flower Dome closes once a month for maintenance, but the closure list read on 17 October 2026 shows no closure during the run. The card discounts still carry terms that contradict their headline dates.
At a glance
- Dates: Friday 20 November 2026 to Sunday 3 January 2027, 45 days by our count. The event page shows no “last updated” date.
- Hours: 9.00am to 9.00pm. The opening-hours page gives the Flower Dome’s last admission as 8.30pm and lists no maintenance closure during the run.
- Where: Flower Dome, Gardens by the Bay, 18 Marina Gardens Drive, Singapore 018953.
- What it is: the show’s third edition, the Gardens says: model trains run through miniature landscapes inspired by the United States, Singapore (two SMRT trains among reimagined MRT stations) and Finland, ending at Santa’s toy factory and post office in Rovaniemi. Christmas trees, conifers and poinsettias fill the Dome. “Floral display details are subject to change,” the page adds.
- Price: the event page lists no train-show price. Resident Flower Dome-only prices on 17 October 2026: adult S$12, senior S$8, child (3–12) S$8, GST included. The Non-Resident tab lists no Flower Dome-only ticket.
- Free evening show: Garden Rhapsody at 7.45pm and 8.45pm: Garden Waltz to 28 November, then The Christmas Special from 29 November 2026 to 1 January 2027 (the Gardens says dates are subject to change).
- Public holidays: Friday 25 December 2026 and Friday 1 January 2027, per the Ministry of Manpower. Primary and secondary school holidays run from 21 November to 31 December 2026 on the MOE calendar.
How much does the Christmas Train Show cost?
The event page gives the price as one line, “Admission charge to Flower Dome applies”, and names no train-show ticket, add-on or timed slot. Reading that as “the Flower Dome ticket is the train-show ticket” is our inference, not the Gardens’ statement, so confirm it at a counter. The Gardens’ online ticketing site could not be opened for this guide, so ticket availability, timed entry and any online-only price are unverified.
The Flower Dome page has two price tabs, and they differ. On the Singapore Resident tab (Singapore Citizens, Permanent Residents and people living in Singapore, including Employment Pass, Work Permit and Dependent Pass holders), the prices on 17 October 2026 were:
- Flower Dome only: adult S$12, senior (60 and above) S$8, child (3–12) S$8.
- Flower Dome and Cloud Forest: adult S$34, senior citizen S$29, child S$26.
- Three-attraction bundle (Flower Dome, Cloud Forest, Floral Fantasy and shuttle): adult S$42, senior S$34, child S$32, each shown beside a struck-through higher price. The bundle is on a promotion page marked “Till 14 Mar 2027”.
The Non-Resident tab lists no Flower Dome-only ticket and no senior price. It shows Flower Dome and Cloud Forest at S$46 for an adult and S$32 for a child, and the bundle at S$58 for an adult and S$41 for a child, beside struck-through S$73 and S$51. Prices include GST on both tabs. The Gardens says proof of residency may be required at purchase or admission (the Resident tab adds “local bank card”), with ticket upgrades if it cannot be produced.
Do the 10% card offers apply?
Possibly, but the Gardens’ own pages contradict each other, so confirm at the counter before relying on them. The homepage lists 10% off Flower Dome admission with a SAFRA card, a PAssion card or an OCBC card, each headed “Till 30 Apr 2027”, and a separate DBS/POSB cards offer page is headed “Till 31 Mar 2027”. Each page applies the discount to Singapore-resident admission. But the terms on the four pages give purchase windows ending 30 April 2026 (SAFRA, PAssion, OCBC) and 31 March 2026 (DBS/POSB), both already past when we rechecked on 17 October 2026.
If an offer is honoured, the terms limit it to on-site Gardens ticketing counters and eight resident tickets per transaction, bar combining it with other discounts and exclude special events priced separately. The train-show page does not say it is priced separately, nor that the offers apply.
What does a family of five pay for a train-show evening?
An illustrative household, not a real one: two adults, one grandparent aged 60 or above and two children aged 3–12, all Singapore residents, at the resident Flower Dome-only prices, which assumes the Flower Dome ticket is the way in (our inference).
- 2 adults × S$12 = S$24
- 1 senior × S$8 = S$8
- 2 children × S$8 = S$16
- Admission total: S$48, or S$9.60 a person on average. Garden Rhapsody is free.
If a card offer is honoured, the Gardens’ discounted prices are S$10.80 for an adult and S$7.20 for a child or senior, so 2 × S$10.80 + 3 × S$7.20 = S$43.20, S$4.80 less. For your own group, the resident rule is S$12 × adults + S$8 × (children aged 3–12 + seniors). The page lists only those three price bands, so ask the counter about anyone under 3.
The larger tickets cost far more for the same five: Flower Dome and Cloud Forest is 2 × S$34 + 1 × S$29 + 2 × S$26 = S$149, and the bundle is 2 × S$42 + 1 × S$34 + 2 × S$32 = S$182. The bundle’s recommended duration is three hours and Cloud Forest’s last admission is 8.00pm, so, on our inference, it is a poor fit for an evening that ends with the 8.45pm show. All figures exclude transport, food and parking; the getting-here page lists car parks at S$0.035 a minute, capped at S$30 a day.
Can you see the train show and a free light show in one evening?
On the listed times, yes, within two published limits: the Flower Dome page recommends about an hour inside, and last admission is 8.30pm. No page we read gives a show length or a walking time between the Flower Dome and Supertree Grove, so this running order is our inference from the listed times, not a Gardens recommendation.
- By 6.45pm: arrive and buy tickets. The ticketing counters at The Canopy, opposite the Flower Dome main entrance, open 9am to 9pm.
- About 7.00pm to 8.00pm: the Flower Dome and the trains, for the recommended hour.
- 8.00pm to 8.45pm: a buffer to walk to Supertree Grove and find a spot for the 8.45pm show.
- After the show: the Gardens’ shuttle (every 10 minutes, looping between Bayfront Plaza, Active Garden and Flower Dome; the page does not list Supertree Grove as a stop) has its last ride at 8.45pm, the minute the second show starts. Plan the ride home by MRT or car: the getting-here page lists Bayfront MRT (CE1/DT16, Exit B) and Gardens by the Bay MRT (TE22, Exit 1).
In our inference, starting with the 7.45pm show is harder to fit: its length is not published, and you must reach the Flower Dome by 8.30pm, leaving at most 30 minutes before the 9.00pm closing.
The show edition depends on the date. Garden Waltz is on until 28 November; The Christmas Special, described as Supertree lights dancing to favourite Christmas classics and highlights sung by local artists, is listed from 29 November 2026 to 1 January 2027, with dates subject to change. The page lists no edition after 1 January, so check the Gardens’ notices for 2 and 3 January.
Will the Flower Dome be open on the day you choose?
The closure list now runs to November 2027. For the Flower Dome it lists 16 November 2026 and then 12 January 2027, so no maintenance closure falls within the run. The page says the Dome is “Closed once a month for maintenance”, yet the list has no September or December 2026 date, so recheck it before you go.
The same page says only one cooled conservatory closes at a time and that, on closure days, admission tickets to one conservatory remain on sale; Cloud Forest’s list gives 17 November 2026 and then 19 January 2027. Floral Fantasy, which is part of the bundle, is listed as closed on Tuesday 1 December 2026; the bundle page says block-out dates apply to day passes, but not whether the bundle is sold on that day.
The Gardens’ promotion terms also reserve the right to change operating hours, or to close or restrict admission to the conservatories, because of capacity, inclement weather, special events or other reasons. The pages we read give no special hours for 24–25 December or 31 December–1 January, and no crowd data, so have a second plan for the two public-holiday Fridays.
What else is on at the Gardens during the run?
The Story of Studio Ghibli runs from Friday 18 December 2026 to Sunday 4 July 2027, 10am to 7pm, at the West Lawn, beside Active Garden, for a visit of about 60 to 75 minutes, so it covers only part of the train show’s run. The page says an admission fee applies but gives no price, and the ticketing site could not be opened to check one. Because it closes at 7pm, it would fit an afternoon before an evening in the Flower Dome (our inference), and on our reading its fee is a separate cost from the Flower Dome ticket.
Christmas Wonderland is not part of this show: the Garden Rhapsody page says charges to Supertree Grove “may apply for ticketed events such as Christmas Wonderland” but lists no 2026 edition, so nothing is confirmed for it here. Our guide to what is confirmed for Christmas 2026 tracks it, and our Flower Dome 2027 calendar lists the displays that follow the train show.
What to check before you go
- The train-show page, the closure list and the alert banner at the top of the Gardens’ pages, on the day before.
- Proof of residency for everyone buying resident tickets (the Resident tab says a local bank card may also be required), and each child’s and senior’s age band.
- Whether a card offer is honoured at the counter, before you pay.
- Last admission at 8.30pm, your show time (7.45pm or 8.45pm) and the Garden Rhapsody edition for your date.
- How the group gets home after 8.45pm, when the shuttle’s last ride leaves.
- A second plan if your date is 25 December or 1 January.
For a bigger group, compare the other tickets in our guide to Gardens by the Bay ticket combinations and group cost; for the weeks before the show opens, see the free light shows guide. Our Christmas 2026 group plan helps you agree a date, and more dated outings are in the Q4 2026 events calendar and the going-out topic.
Common questions
When is the Christmas Train Show at Gardens by the Bay in 2026?
From Friday 20 November 2026 to Sunday 3 January 2027, 9am to 9pm, in the Flower Dome, per the Gardens’ event page read on 17 October 2026, which says floral display details are subject to change.
How much is the Christmas Train Show?
The event page lists no separate price and says an admission charge to Flower Dome applies, so the Flower Dome ticket is the likely route (our inference). On 17 October 2026 the Singapore-resident Flower Dome prices were S$12 for an adult, S$8 for a senior aged 60 and above and S$8 for a child aged 3–12.
What if someone in the group is not a Singapore resident?
On 17 October 2026 the Gardens’ Non-Resident tab listed no Flower Dome-only ticket, only Flower Dome and Cloud Forest (adult S$46, child S$32) and the bundle (adult S$58, child S$41). Ask the counter what non-resident Flower Dome entry costs before you plan around it.
Is Garden Rhapsody free in December 2026?
The Gardens lists it as free, daily at 7.45pm and 8.45pm, with The Christmas Special from 29 November 2026 to 1 January 2027. It adds that charges to Supertree Grove may apply for ticketed events, so check the Gardens’ notices on the day.
What is the last entry to the Flower Dome, and is it ever closed?
Last admission is 8.30pm and the Dome closes at 9pm. It closes for maintenance about once a month, but the closure list read on 17 October 2026 shows no Flower Dome closure between 20 November 2026 and 3 January 2027; the next listed date is 12 January 2027. Recheck the list before you go.
