How do I count the days between two dates?
Choose “Days between two dates” and enter both. The calculator gives two figures, because people count in two ways. Our worked example: from Tuesday 1 December to Friday 25 December 2026 is 24 days without the end date, the way you count days until an event, and 25 days counting both dates, the way you count the days of a booking. It also shows weeks and days, and years, months and days.
How do I add days, weeks or months to a date?
Choose “Add or subtract”, enter a number and pick a unit: 90 days after Tuesday 1 December 2026 is Monday 1 March 2027. A month moves to the same day of the month; when that day does not exist, the tool uses the month’s last day (our convention, stated beside the answer), so 31 January 2027 plus one month is Sunday 28 February 2027. Added working days start from the day after the start date: one working day after Thursday 24 December 2026 is Monday 28 December, because Christmas Day and the weekend are skipped.
How does it count working days in Singapore?
Monday to Friday, both dates included, less MOM’s gazetted public holidays on a weekday: MOM’s public holidays page lists 11 a year. For a holiday on a Sunday, that page says the Monday “will be a public holiday if your rest day falls on” the Sunday, and the entitlement and pay page says: “If you are on a 5-day work week, Saturday would be considered your non-working day and Sunday would be your rest day.” So on a Monday-to-Friday week the tool also removes 1 June, 10 August and 9 November 2026 and 8 February 2027, the Mondays the press releases for 2026 and 2027 name too.
A worked example: Monday 3 to Friday 14 August 2026 has 10 weekdays. National Day is Sunday 9 August, so Monday 10 August is a public holiday, leaving 9 working days.
What if a public holiday falls on a Saturday?
On a 5-day week, MOM’s entitlement page says “you should get either a day off or salary in lieu”. It names no date, so the tool removes no weekday for Hari Raya Puasa on Saturday 21 March 2026, or for Chinese New Year’s first day, Labour Day and Christmas Day, all on Saturdays in 2027. Ask your employer which day off, if any, you get.
Which years does it know public holidays for?
2026 and 2027. Outside them the result says no holiday is counted, and every weekday counts as a working day. MOM’s FAQ says: “MOM publishes dates for public holidays one year in advance, by the 3rd quarter of the previous year.” We will add 2028 when it appears. For 2027 in detail, see our 2027 public holidays and long weekends page and the leave planner for 2027.
What does this calculator not do?
It counts calendar dates from 1900 to 2100, with no times of day or time zones. Working days assume a fixed Monday-to-Friday week with Sunday as the rest day; 5.5-day and 6-day weeks, shift rosters, half days, company holidays and leave are not modelled. It does not decide how a contract, court or agency counts a deadline, which may exclude the first day or define a working day differently: check that rule or ask the agency. Common questions
How many working days are there in December 2026 in Singapore?
22 on a Monday-to-Friday week: 23 weekdays, less Christmas Day on Friday 25 December.
How do I count the days between two dates including the end date?
Add one to the plain difference: 1 to 25 December 2026 is 24 days, or 25 counting both dates.
Is Monday 10 August 2026 a public holiday?
On a 5-day week, yes by MOM’s wording: the Monday “will be a public holiday if your rest day falls on 9 August 2026”, and MOM makes Sunday the rest day on a 5-day week.
Does the calculator know the 2028 public holidays?
No. MOM had not published them when we checked on 17 October 2026, so no holiday is counted outside 2026 and 2027, and the result says so.
