SG Culture Pass credits can pay for several year-end shows whose own ticket pages now confirm they accept them: three Kalaa Utsavam productions at Esplanade in November (Rafta Rafta, A Very Mahogany Wedding and Bedok to Bollywood), the choral concert The Voices We Meet on 6 December, and eligible films at the Singapore International Film Festival (SGIFF) until 1 November. The National Arts Council (NAC) says Singapore Citizens aged 18 and above in 2025 received S$100 of credits on 1 September 2025, valid until 31 December 2028, so there is no rush to spend them by Christmas. The reason to look now is that the shows themselves are dated.
Below: who has credits, which year-end shows say they take them, how payment works at Esplanade and at SGIFF, and a worked example of how far S$100 goes once booking fees are counted.
At a glance
- Credits: S$100 for Singapore Citizens aged 18 and above in 2025, given on 1 September 2025 and valid from 1 September 2025 to 31 December 2028 (NAC).
- SGIFF: 21 October to 1 November 2026; Culture Pass credits buy a code per ticket for eligible films (SGIFF ticketing).
- Rafta Rafta: 18 to 22 November 2026, 8pm nightly plus 3pm on 21 and 22 November, Esplanade Theatre Studio, standard ticket S$65, eligible from 30 September 2026 (event page).
- A Very Mahogany Wedding: Friday 20 November 2026, 7.30pm, Esplanade Annexe Studio, standard S$35, ages 18 and above (event page).
- Bedok to Bollywood: 27 and 28 November 2026, Esplanade Recital Studio, standard S$50, ages 16 and above (event page).
- The Voices We Meet: Sunday 6 December 2026, 5pm, Esplanade Concert Hall, standard S$35, eligible from 7 October 2026 (event page).
Who gets SG Culture Pass credits, and when do they expire?
NAC's page describes the SG Culture Pass as an initiative by the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth "designed to encourage Singapore Citizens to support Singapore's arts and heritage programmes". Its terms, as published on that page (last updated 30 June 2026):
- Who: Singapore Citizens aged 18 and above in 2025.
- How much and when: S$100 of credits, given on 1 September 2025.
- What for: to "offset ticket purchases for eligible local arts and heritage activities and programmes offered by authorised ticketing partners".
- Until when: valid from 1 September 2025 to 31 December 2028.
Permanent residents and other residents are not named as recipients, which matters when you plan a group outing: each eligible citizen uses their own credits, and anyone else pays in the usual way. NAC's page does not say whether credits can pay booking fees, so check that at checkout.
Which year-end shows accept SG Culture Pass credits?
These are the shows whose own pages carried an "SG Culture Pass" eligibility notice when we read them on 16 October 2026. It is not a complete list: the scheme's own site, which lists eligible events, could not be opened from our research environment.
- Rafta Rafta (theatre, English). An Esplanade co-production by HuM Theatre, directed by Daisy Irani Subaiah: a newly married couple, Atul and Weilin, in a BTO flat filling up with parents and in-laws. Wednesday 18 to Sunday 22 November, 8pm nightly, plus 3pm matinees on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 November; 2 hours 15 minutes with one 15-minute interval. Standard S$65 (listed "from S$57.20"). Admission age 9 and above; recommended 13 and above.
- A Very Mahogany Wedding (staged reading). An Esplanade commission by Mahogany Journal following a bride, bridesmaid and solemniser on the big day. Friday 20 November, 7.30pm, one hour. Standard S$35 (listed "from S$29"). Ages 18 and above; the page notes mature themes. In English with some Malay, Tamil and Hindi.
- Bedok to Bollywood (interactive comedy-drama). Created by comedian Rishi Budhrani and performed with host K.P. Sandhu, about two Singaporeans chasing Bollywood stardom. Friday 27 and Saturday 28 November at 8pm, plus a 4pm show added on 28 November. 1 hour 15 minutes. Standard S$50 (listed "from S$41.50"). Ages 16 and above; contains coarse language.
- The Voices We Meet (choral concert). Musicians' Inc. 6 (MI6) and the Voices Festival Choir, a seasonal choir of auditioned singers aged 17 to 26. Sunday 6 December, 5pm, 1 hour 40 minutes including a 20-minute interval. Standard S$35 (listed "from S$28"). Ages 6 and above. Our Voices festival guide covers the rest of that weekend.
- SGIFF eligible films. The 37th SGIFF runs from 21 October to 1 November 2026. Its ticketing page lists a general film ticket at S$15, a Special Presentation at S$20 and the Festival Opening or Closing at S$25. Our SGIFF 2026 guide and festival listing cover the programme.
Pages that did not carry the notice include Esplanade's international Mosaic concerts in November, such as Diana Krall and Patrick Watson. Read that as "not shown on the page", not as a ruling.
How do you pay with SG Culture Pass credits?
The route depends on the seller.
- At Esplanade: each eligible event page says to select "SG Culture Pass" as your payment option on the Shopping Cart page. Eligibility starts on a stated date and time, for example 30 September 2026 at 1pm for the Kalaa Utsavam shows above.
- At SGIFF: you buy tickets for eligible films with your credits through the Culture Pass route on SGIFF's ticketing page, and receive "one unique code per ticket" to use at checkout on sgiff.com. SGIFF says tickets are sold online until five minutes before each screening and there are no on-site sales, apart from limited Rush Queue tickets at screening venues.
- Anywhere else: look for the scheme's name on the organiser's own ticket page. If it is absent, do not assume the credits will work.

How far does S$100 go? A worked example
This example is illustrative: the person and the choices are invented, the prices are each show's standard price on 16 October 2026, and the fees are the SISTIC booking fees listed in Esplanade's visitor FAQ (S$1 per ticket below S$20, S$3 from S$20.01 to S$40, S$4 from S$40.01 to S$50, S$5 from S$50.01 to S$70 and S$6 above S$70).
Mei Ling, a citizen with her full S$100, compares three plans:
- Plan A, one big night and one concert: Rafta Rafta S$65 plus S$5 fee, and The Voices We Meet S$35 plus S$3 fee. Tickets total S$100 exactly; with fees, S$108.
- Plan B, two November shows and a film: A Very Mahogany Wedding S$35 plus S$3, Bedok to Bollywood S$50 plus S$4, and one SGIFF general film ticket at S$15. Tickets total S$100; with the two Esplanade fees, S$107 before any SGIFF charge.
- Plan C, mostly films: four SGIFF general film tickets at S$15 (S$60) and A Very Mahogany Wedding S$35 plus S$3. Tickets total S$95; with the Esplanade fee, S$98.
The lesson is that a plan which adds up to exactly S$100 in ticket prices may still leave a few dollars to pay, because the pages we read do not say whether credits cover booking fees. Esplanade&Me member discounts may also lower the standard price; the event pages do not say whether they combine with credits, so treat any saving as a bonus rather than part of the plan.
Planning with friends who are not eligible
If you are going as a group, decide the show first and the payment second. Citizens can each pay with their own credits; permanent residents, foreigners and anyone without credits pay normally. When one person books for everyone, our group cost calculator works out who owes what, and our guide to organising a concert group covers seating and the order of booking. More dated planning pieces are on the planning topic page.
