Park venue rental in Singapore, across the four NParks parks compared here, runs from S$87.20 for four hours in HortPark’s 16-person Seed Room (off-peak) to S$2,289 in the Botanic Gardens’ Burkill Hall (GST included), on NParks venue pages read on 17 October 2026 (last updated between 6 September and 14 October 2026; the room rates had not changed since our first check on 3 October). For 25, 40 or 50 guests, the lowest-priced room that fits on those pages costs S$4.67 to S$6.10 a guest for the four-hour minimum, against S$24.85 to S$49.70 a guest (GST included) in the Botanic Gardens’ Function Hall, the cheapest of its three rooms.

HortPark and Jurong Lake Gardens ask for bookings two months ahead and Fort Canning one month, so, by our arithmetic from the pages’ wording, a party on Saturday 26 December 2026, the day after Christmas, needs a HortPark or Banyan Hall request by Monday 26 October 2026. Only the Botanic Gardens page says its rates include GST; the other three pages do not say, so the figures may not be on the same basis. This guide covers rooms and halls only, not the lawns and gardens listed on the same pages. For when a park booking is needed at all, see NParks’s event venue booking page, whose rule is quoted near the end of this guide.

How much does each park room cost per guest?

Per guest means the four-hour minimum fee divided by the number of guests, rounded to the cent, with extra hours left out. Each list shows, for each park, the lowest-priced room whose stated capacity covers the headcount (seated figure where given; indoor figure for Fort Canning’s Quarters and Raffles House), so count everyone, including the host and children. Peak is Friday to Sunday at all three parks that define it; off-peak is Tuesday to Thursday at HortPark and Monday to Thursday at Fort Canning and Jurong Lake Gardens. For the Botanic Gardens we show the Function Hall, using its cluster (30), classroom (60) or theatre (180) figure, whichever is the smallest that fits.

16 guests

  • HortPark Seed Room (16): S$5.45 off-peak, S$6.81 peak
  • Fort Canning Old Married Soldier’s Quarters (40 seated indoors): S$11.68

  • Botanic Gardens Function Hall (30 cluster), GST included: S$77.66

25 guests

  • HortPark Leaf or Flower Room (25): S$4.80 off-peak, S$6.10 peak
  • Fort Canning Old Married Soldier’s Quarters: S$7.47
  • Banyan Hall: S$21.80 off-peak, S$26.16 peak
  • Botanic Gardens Function Hall (30 cluster), GST included: S$49.70

  • Fort Canning Old Married Soldier’s Quarters (40 seated): S$4.67
  • HortPark Fruit Room (50): S$6.13 off-peak, S$7.49 peak

50 guests

  • Banyan Hall (85): S$6.41 off-peak, S$7.69 peak
  • HortPark MPH with stage (200 seated): S$9.30 off-peak, S$11.54 peak
  • Botanic Gardens Function Hall (180 theatre), GST included: S$14.62

Two readings of the grid, ours rather than NParks’s:

  • If your headcount equals a room’s maximum, price the next room up. For 16 guests the Leaf Room costs S$32.70 more than the Seed Room off-peak (S$119.90 against S$87.20) and S$43.60 more at peak (S$152.60 against S$109). Per guest that is S$7.49 against S$5.45 off-peak and S$9.54 against S$6.81 at peak.
  • At 85 guests, Raffles House & Lawn is five over its indoor limit of 80. Its 100-seat figure counts the outdoor lawn, so plan for rain. Fort Canning Centre’s Function Hall, an indoor venue (150 seated with stage), costs S$1,308 on every day, or S$15.39 a guest.

Can you compare these four pages like for like?

Not entirely. Check these before treating the grid as a ranking.

  • GST: only the Botanic Gardens page says its rates include GST. The other three pages do not say, so the figures may not be on the same basis. Ask for the total payable.
  • Peak days: HortPark’s page does not mention Monday, and no page says how a weekday public holiday is treated. Fort Canning’s Function Hall costs the same every day, the Quarters’ page gives one four-hour fee, and the Botanic Gardens page gives one rate.
  • What the four hours include: HortPark counts catering and logistics set-up and tear-down inside the minimum, and Banyan Hall says its hours include set-up and teardown. Both use the blocks 8am–12pm, 1pm–5pm and 6pm–10pm. Illustratively, if set-up and clearing took one hour in total (our assumption), a 1pm–5pm block would leave three hours of party. The other two pages do not say.
  • Capacity and furniture: Banyan Hall lists 8 rectangular tables and 60 chairs against its 85-person capacity, so ask about more chairs. The Quarters’ page gives one fee without saying whether it covers the indoor area, the outdoor area or both. HortPark’s Greenhouse Open Space lists 100 people in 30 sqm and does not say if it is indoors, so we left it out.
  • Who the rooms are for: the Botanic Gardens page lists only corporate uses under “Perfect for” for the Function Hall and Function Room, and weddings plus anniversary and engagement celebrations for Burkill Hall, though the Function Hall’s description also says it suits “celebratory gatherings”. Banyan Hall’s page lists “Birthday Party / Anniversary” among its suited event types. For a private birthday at the Botanic Gardens, ask whether it is accepted; the page names Parkhouse Collection by 1-Host as its booking manager.
  • Not listed: the pages we read give no deposit, cancellation, cleaning or insurance terms.

What does a peak day or an extra hour add?

Illustrative arithmetic from the published rates, not quotes.

  • 25 guests, HortPark Leaf Room: Saturday S$152.60 against Thursday S$119.90 adds S$32.70, or S$1.31 a guest. An extra hour is S$38.15 at peak, so five hours on a Saturday is S$190.75.
  • 85 guests, Banyan Hall: Saturday S$654 against Thursday S$545 adds S$109, or S$1.28 a guest. The additional hour is S$109 off-peak and S$218 peak, so five hours on a Thursday (S$545 plus S$109) costs S$654, the same as four hours on a Saturday, while five hours on a Saturday costs S$872.

Neither page says how an extra hour is fitted around other bookings, so ask before planning around one.

When do you have to book for Saturday 26 December 2026?

HortPark says bookings “must be made 2 months prior to the event date”, Fort Canning says they “must be made 1 month prior to the event date”, and Banyan Hall says they “should be made 2 months in advance”. The dates below are our arithmetic from that wording; the pages do not say how they count months, so treat each as the latest date and ask earlier.

  • Now: ask for a site recce. HortPark’s page gives nparks_hp@1-host.sg and 6376 3909 and says bookings are managed by Parkhouse Collection by 1-Host.
  • Monday 26 October 2026: latest date for HortPark and Banyan Hall (Banyan Hall’s wording is “should”, HortPark’s is “must”). Banyan Hall confirms only on full payment, so ask when payment falls due.
  • Thursday 26 November 2026: latest date for Fort Canning.
  • Botanic Gardens: the page states no lead time, so ask now.

For another date, subtract two months (HortPark, Banyan Hall) or one month (Fort Canning). Counted from 17 October 2026, the rules as written cover HortPark and Banyan Hall dates from Thursday 17 December 2026 and Fort Canning dates from Tuesday 17 November 2026; for an earlier date, ask whether a shorter-notice request is accepted. Planning around the Christmas weekend? Our Christmas 2026 long-weekend plan covers the group side. NParks’s event venue booking page also says you must make a booking if an event has more than 15 participants, needs set-up such as a tentage or sound system, or requires a ticket for admission, and that bookings must be submitted at least one calendar month before the event.

What to check before you book

  • Headcount, including host, children and infants, against the stated capacity for your layout.
  • Peak or off-peak for your date, and how a public holiday is treated.
  • The total payable including GST, plus deposit, cancellation and cleaning terms, in writing.
  • The time block, and how much set-up and tear-down use.
  • Tables, chairs, air-conditioning and equipment included in the fee.
  • The booking deadline, when payment is due, and a recce before it.
  • Food and the run of the day: our guide to choosing a party caterer and our small gathering checklist help. For more hosting guides, see the hosting topic.

Common questions

How much does it cost to hire a room in a park in Singapore?

On NParks pages read on 17 October 2026, the four-hour minimum ranges from S$87.20 (HortPark’s Seed Room, 16 people, off-peak) to S$2,289 (the Botanic Gardens’ Burkill Hall, GST included). Banyan Hall is S$545 to S$654 for 85 people.

How far ahead do I have to book a park room?

HortPark and Banyan Hall say two months ahead and Fort Canning says one month; the Botanic Gardens page states no lead time. For Saturday 26 December 2026 that means Monday 26 October for HortPark and Banyan Hall and Thursday 26 November for Fort Canning, by our arithmetic.

Can I book a park room for less than four hours?

No, not for the rooms compared here. All four pages quote a four-hour minimum, and HortPark and Banyan Hall count set-up and tear-down inside it. Extra hours are charged at an add-on rate.

Do the park venue prices include GST?

Only the Botanic Gardens page says so, with “Rates (incl. GST)”. The HortPark, Fort Canning and Jurong Lake Gardens pages do not say, so ask the booking contact for the total payable.
