Spice is Nice” exhibition traces the voyages of discovery, spice trade, colonisation, migration pattern, life in early Singapore, traditional cures and flavours of regional cuisine. The exhibition, targeted at families with children, features many hands-on activities and multimedia programmes for visitors to explore and discover the development of Singapore from the 19th century, and the uses and properties of spices.

Venue: Bussorah Mall, Kampung Gelam Dates: Friday, 22 February, 22 March & Saturday, 23 February, 23 March 2013 Neighbourhood Sketches return this year with more vibrant performances along the bustling esplanade of Bussorah Mall! This popular series of street performances will continue to showcase different aspects of traditional and contemporary Malay artistic expressions such as kerongchong (Malay folk music originating from Java), angklung (a musical instrument consisting of two or four bamboo tubes), kulingtang (wooden xylophone from Sulawesi), wayang orang (Javanese theatrical performance) and more.
